The Carrs at Warsop

General Description

The Carrs in Warsop is a large open space, which includes the Local Nature Reserve, recreational and play areas, a mill pond and the River Meden. This park, which was declared a Local nature Reserve in 2005, is a former water meadow which was once common land. The park is now managed by Mansfield District Council and caters for a wide range of leisure activities.

The Carrs (NG20 0SF) is located on the A60 between Mansfield and Worksop.

Access

The site comprises of a large grassed area on the Church side of the river Meden (the event field) and a substantial grassed area on the Meden School side of the river (used for public parking).

Vehicular access to the event field for all stalls and attractions (and also the entrance for the hard-standing car park for disabled badge holders) is located on the A60, between the Church of St. Peter & St. Paul and the river Meden (marked on the above map with a red star).

Entrance to the main public car park is located on the A60, opposite the Meden School (marked on the above map with a blue star).

There is also a foot bridge across the river Meden for pedestrian traffic (marked on the above map with a green star).

A public footpath extending from Church Warsop to the Carrs offers further access to the event field for pedestrian traffic (marked on the above map with a gold star).
