Warsop Carnival History
A message from our chairman:
I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone that came and supported us on Sunday.
I hope you'll agree that this year's event was the best it has been for years.
A special thanks to all of our committee members and charity shop volunteers as without them this simply wouldn't be happening.
I'd also like to extend a thank you to Vicky from Vibrant Warsop and Scott from Johnson Bros for the help and support they gave us with the King's and Queens procession. Also to Phil and Lynn Kennell from Nottinghamshire Fire Safety Ltd for keeping us all safe by supplying fire fighting equipment.
And of course to Bowring Transport for their unwavering support over the years. We call and they deliver - without question.
There's so many to remember and I'm sure I'll forget someone, so to all of you that helped, a massive thank you.
People assume that the council organise, run and pay for the entire event which is not true. We do this for the people of Warsop, totally free and for the good of the community.
I'm personally really proud of what we achieved on Sunday.
Thanks,
Luke Pearson.
Images and Feedback
2023
The weather for 2023 was not at it's best - but at least it stayed dry. We were very lucky considering the rain we had during the days leading up to event day - and the down-pour we had the day after.
We will post some of your images here soon. If you have any photo's (or comments) that you would like to share, please send them to us - and we will add then to our Gallery.
Community spirit at it's best!
We would like to say a massive thank you to the lovely Shirl Davies for her kind donation of £100.00 to next years Carnival.
Shirl performed on Carnival day at the Crates and Grapes in Warsop and donated every penny of her fee back to the people of Warsop to help with next year.
Thank you,
The Committee.
Feedback received from members of the public and stallholders...
The stalls were too far away from the toilets and the food court.
There were too many stalls of a similar type.
The emphasis was on the fairground and not the stalls.
When you have been to the carnival yrs previous it was a disappointment no floats the fair no dodgems or waltzer or the train that's normally there No classic cars and the tent no hanging baskets or food on show to judge no parade and usually in the middle stunts being done usually birds of prey there as well or someone carving wood to make statues wasn't enough to keep you there we came home someone else said they say it's gonna be bigger and better next yr but it never happens we gonna go newton carnival this week they have the marching bands and floats through the streets.
It was fantastic. We had a lovely time and there was so much there we didn't even get chance to do everything. Great job everyone and thank you for all your hard work x.
A fantastic event. Great to see so many people out enjoying the afternoon. A huge shout out to the organisers for all of their hard work. Loved the live music and hats off to the bar staff who were incredibly efficient. Roll on 2024.
We at 8 below had an amazing day and helped raise vital funds for our dogs. I thought it was such a good day!
Well done to all. Couldn’t get my little one off the kiddies bronco ride.
A fantastic day yet again - even better than last year. Well done to everyone who made it happen and thank you.
Thank you everyone involved for a lovely day, hopefully the Parade will be back next year.
It was a fantastic day and we would love to do it again next year when's the earliest to book for stall holders please?
Top marks all round, I’ve never seen so many people there. People tend to think these things happen on there own, but it’s the hard work of volunteers, who put in long hours of planning to bring it all together. Well done to you all.
Me and the kids loved it all, especially the stunt show!
Well done and thank you for a wonderful day.
All the family loved it and we didn't get there till lunch time so probably missed a few acts but we enjoyed the Freddie Mercury tribute they were brilliant, I think the rides could have been cheaper, mounts up when you've got 2 or 3 kid's, but overall a good day. Thank you all involved.
Well done you made it the best in years xx.
We had a fantastic day and have to say it was the most organised and biggest event we have been to in the local area, well done to you guys who organise it, amazing. Look forward to next year.
Was a great day loads of stalls good entertainment big funfair just needs the parade back could even involve the swallows green at the start.
Great job everyone involved. All your hard work paid off again for the people of Warsop and surrounding areas.
It was a fab day! Thankyou so much to all who organised and volunteered on the day.
Thanks to everyone who bought treats and dog snacks. Maybe a fun dog show next year?
Was a brilliant day. Not seen it that busy in a few years. Well done all of you xx.
Brilliant day, and extremely well organised Thank you to everyone involved. Thank you for allowing my daughter to be part of carnival royalty - an experience she will never forget, and thank you for her goody bag x.
It was a fantastic day. Thankyou to all who helped make it what it was. Definitely the best it’s been for years. So much choice. The kids and adults all had a great time. X.
Yes it was a mint day roll on next year x.
100%
Fanatic day. Been living in warsop for 5 years now and that was the best one so far. Shame it's not on a Saturday so people could stay out longer to enjoy the bands and a few beer's and fair ground.
Always enjoy it.. wasn’t so hot this year but maybe that’s not such a bad thing.
Great event, well delivered and well run. A pleasure to be involved as a service provider Fox Audio Hire LTD.
I didn’t see most of it as was on a stall but thank you to everyone who had a go we raised a massive £905 for meningitis for my little boys charity.
Incredible event! Really great from everyone involved!! Only suggestions to make it even better next year would be more hot drinks availability - ( Lowscales Coffee Ltd ) get booked in!!! And to maybe spread them out so some closer to the stalls at the top (if possible) for stall holders, disabled visitors or those with little kiddies to be able to nip and get food and drinks without having to go down to the bottom end. Looking forward to next year already!!! Thank you to everyone involved xxx.
We decided to purely go to sit, relax and enjoy the entertainment this year and have a drink and we loved it! Enjoyed it so much, nice to have cheap beer to buy there too, and the acts were great queen tribute were great!
Thankyou to everyone who stopped by and said hello to Blue and Dave x Blossom Geek Props.
You guys have done incredible. I will try and give help where I can and will try to make it to one of your meetings to explain where I could possibly help next year. If of course you need me lol. X.
My partner works for a traffic management company, he is going to put forward to see if the road closure is something they can offer for next years carnival to bring back the parade if this is in the talks, they have closed many roads local for events, they recently hosted the road closure in Nottingham for the Sikh parade, anymore info please feel free to pop me a message and I can pass on details xx.
Thank you to everyone who gave feedback. We take everything on-board and discuss them all in our meetings. These comments will help to make next year even better. Please, keep them coming.
Do you have a suggestion for next year? Could you help us make next year even better? Join us and become part of something special!
Regards,
Warsop Carnival Committee.
